SANIBEL ISLAND FISHING

Hooray!! It’s Tarpon season here at Sanibel Island and the fishing has been the best ever!

Unseasonably warm weather has driven the tarpon into the bay. We’ve had no problem finding tarpon each day. Some days hooking up 7 times. For some reason the pictures I post here are not loading. Some kind of glitch. If you want to see some pretty cool pictures you can go to “Tarpoons” or “Greg Hood Sanibel” on FaceBook.

Enjoy Tarpon season. Hope to see you on the water hooked up to the Silver King!

SANIBEL ISLAND FISHING

My favorite time of year has arrived here around SANIBEL ISLAND and the Tarpon FISHING has begun.

We’ve caught 19 so far on my boat. That’s a great start. There is a full moon here now. Yesterday morning I went out and as the sun came up we were surrounded with silver kings. We caught and landed 3 before 11am. All three of our fish weighed around 150 to 170 lbs. The last one was nearly eaten by a giant bull shark. I’ll keep the Tarpon reports coming!

SANIBEL ISLAND FISHING

Wow! The water and the FISHING sure has heated up here around SANIBEL ISLAND.

Everything is biting with the water temperature in the mid and upper 70’s. Plenty of snook, redfish, and trout. I’m still catching sharks and a few tarpon. It’s busy here so it’s a good idea to call early for your SANIBEL FISHING CHARTER.

See Ya on the water!

SANIBEL ISLAND FISHING

The Inshore fishing around Sanibel has been a little slow with these cold fronts. It’s hard to explain sometimes to people from the north escaping the snow that it’s cold here too! Even though it may be 70 degrees air temperature, the water is 63. That’s very cold for Sanibel. Offshore is the same. We’re catching fish, but it’s slower than normal.
Good news is when we do catch fish here around Sanibel Island there big!
Jeremy is catching snappers with some red and black grouper.
I’ve been catching huge sharks.
Take a look at some of our recent catches for Sanibel Fishing.

Dodging the cold fronts here around Sanibel Island.
The fishing has been exceptionally good for me when we get the right conditions such as water temperature and wind speed.
The next 7 days will be just that! Great Sanibel Island Fishing. Huge sharks, redfish, trout, and I hope some more Tarpon. Here are some more happy clients with their trophies!
See Ya on the water!

SANIBEL FISHING

The fishing here around Sanibel has been slower than normal the past two weeks. Cold fronts from the north have dropped our water temperatures into the low sixties. No fear. Warmer weather is here now. Beautiful sunny skies are in the forecast for Sanibel and the fishing will get better everyday.
Trout, redfish, pompano, and sharks will be the first to make it up onto the flats. This is a great time of year to use artificials since bait will be scarce.
Offshore Jeremy has been catching Grouper and Snapper.
Christmas and New Years are just around the corner and Sanibel will be busy. I still have a few openings if your interested in some fishing.

Sanibel Fishing

It’s time again for the Holidays and fishing here around Sanibel Island.
Cold weather has started early this year.
Please book your Sanibel Fishing Charters early.
This last week we caught a variety of fishes. Water temperatures have fallen, and will drop even lower after the polar vortex. Sunshine will push fish up onto the flats on high tides. Here are some pictures of the fish we caught this week, with DJ catching a 4.5 to 5lb Giant Pompano!!
